Artists Research

Vincent Van Gogh

  • Van Gogh makes these types of artworks because he wants to express his emotions.
  • These emotional type of paintings are inspired by the emotional renderings of his surroundings because of his mental illness.
  • His inner spirituality also helped to his painting style.

Hieronymus Bosch
  • Bosch’s artworks were produced by his bizarre ideas that were his domain.
  • He makes artworks that symbolize between heaven and hell because of biblical stories.
  • He wanted to be an artist that paints the issues of the modern world.

John Constable
  • Ever since Constable was young he idolized English landscape.
  • He used his work to showcase the beauty and power of nature.
  • He was definitely fascinated by the Suffolk countryside as his most famous works were inspired by that place.

I chose these three artists because all of them has a nature kind of theme to their artworks. I like Van Gogh’s painting style and I also like his colour palette ideas that can help my colouring technique. My favourite thing about Bosch’s artworks are the animals, he makes it look realistic and cartoon-like at the same time and I think that that can help me create my own artwork that has animals in it. John Constable paintings are the perfect nature paintings in showcasing the beauty of nature. He paints depending on what he sees and not changing the natural landscape which is very important to my concept - to showcase the beauty of nature.

Risk or Challenge recount

My Experience at the Adrenalin Forest

It was a rainy, freezing cold morning, I can feel the rain droplets on my skin. I was with my friends and some of my classmates, with some of the school staffs to accompany us. We were at the Adrenalin forest wearing harnesses and helmets. There are lots of trees, of course obviously, it’s a forest. Lots of obstacles and courses that are connected from the trees. Different people and families just went to have a day out. I can smell the strong smell of dirt and grass.

In this certain place, we are all to finish some, if not all of the courses that was all very high up. The problem was, I have the worst fear of heights ever since I was young, why would that be okay? And I’m also really short that's why I already knew that  I can’t do the courses with smooth sailing to the finish line.It was also really hard for me to grab the safety thingy to connect and disconnect from the wires.  At first I was really excited when we got the note saying, we were going to this place, because I found out that I was going with my friends. I got as nervous as a long-tailed cat when we got to our destination because I didn't actually know what Adrenalin forest was until we got there and that there were going to be lots of obstacles. I was shaking the whole time, I was like a scared chicken during my whole journey there. There was this one time when I tried to think in my head, hesitating if I should continue finishing the courses or just ask one of the forest’s staff to rescue me. As in rescue, because it felt like I was gonna collapse because of dizziness.

I went to the very first set of wire courses which were suppose to be the “easiest” one, which it was, but it wasn’t easy at all for me. I crossed through the different courses of criss crossy ropes, logs, and wires. One of my classmates that goes just before me was yelling at me, guiding me through and telling me what the easier ways to do this and that. I decided to do the fifth course as my last one.I finished it and I wasn't the last person in our school that finished our own goal.  Even though I have this fear I still decided to finish the courses as it is just once in a school year opportunity that the school offers,I think. It was awesome. When all finished the courses that we had to do, we all sat on a bench, took pictures and ate pizza. That was the best part. On the afternoon we all went back to school with the class and went home on our own.

Every person has a fear of something, but I really had a good time because even if its just for fun-kind of activity I didn't let my fear became my limit.
